The Nysnö Practitioner Program is for individuals who work or study within a healthcare profession, seeking an increased understanding of the psychedelic experience. The program combines educational elements with the opportunity to explore experiences with psilocybin in a safe and legal context. If you want to work with psychedelic-assisted treatment in the future, or develop on a personal and professional level, the Practitioner Program is an ideal starting point.
Psychedelic training for healthcare professionals
Psychedelic-assisted treatment models are becoming integrated into healthcare, increasing the need for training for healthcare professionals. Personal experience is considered by many experts as an important complement to a theoretical understanding (Nielson & Guss, 2018). This program is part of our intention to contribute to knowledge and community in the healthcare profession, increasing the possibilities for a future effective and safe implementation.
Our programs for healthcare professionals are conducted in English with international groups. The difference from our regular programs consists of educational elements and a focus on specific interpersonal skills. Through a series of lectures with leading experts in psychedelic science, participants have the opportunity to ground the personal experience within a theoretical understanding of the current research.

Like our regular programs, the Practitioner Program involves participation in a group process, which can be both challenging and rewarding. In meeting with the group, you get the opportunity to practice important therapeutic skills such as presence, authenticity and vulnerability.
Our programs are not about treating mental illness. We are advocates of evidence-based treatment for psychiatric problems and the research on models with psychedelic substances is not yet there. Our retreat programs are intended to facilitate spiritual and psychological exploration in our participants' quest for a more authentic life.
Program Basic Structure
Step 1
Health Declaration and Screening
In connection with registration, a health declaration is filled out which forms the basis for one or two screening interviews.
Step 2
Preparation
The program includes an individual session with a facilitator and two group preparation sessions to give you the best conditions before the trip.
Step 3
Education
Before the retreat, we dive into the science of psychedelics in two seminars with leading experts in the field.
Step 4
Retreat in the Netherlands
All-inclusive retreat for four days in the Dutch countryside with two psychedelic truffle sessions.
Steg 5
Integration
Three group sessions with a focus on bringing the lessons learned from the experience home to everyday life and making concrete changes. An optional individual session is also included.
Steg 6
Ethics
A third and final seminar at the end of the program addresses ethical considerations relevant to working in the field of psychedelic medicine.
Upcoming Practitioner Programs
Since 2021, we have conducted more than 35 retreat programs with a total of over 300 participants. Of these, six programs have been specifically aimed at healthcare professionals, and in total approximately 30% of our participants are healthcare professionals.
